Santiago. The Ministry of Tourism carried out the fourth version of the Tourism in Every Corner platform in this city, where the owner David Collado reiterated the development plan for this destination.
He said that they will turn Santiago into the tourist destination “it deserves”, for which a plan has been designed to be executed with all the actors in the province, where two hundred million pesos will be invested.
“The real time has come for Santiago as a tourist destination. From the outset, I would like to inform you that we have already begun the steps to totally renovate that symbol of the Ciudad Corazón, the Monument,” said Collado, while informing that this is a warm-up of the promotion platform, since in January it will be held again at the Monument with all the forces.
The fourth version of Turismo en Cada Rincón was held on Cuba street at the corner of Archille Michell in the historic and picturesque neighborhood of Los Pepines, where the Son de Keka takes place every Sunday, a meeting point that has become a city brand where dancers are dressed in colorful costumes.
Collado valued this initiative, qualifying it as part of Dominican history, culture and tourism, as well as its entrepreneurs, the descendants of Antonio Keka, a deceased character from this neighborhood who every Sunday placed son in his grocery store, gathering the dancers there .
The activity was attended by representatives of the Mitur and municipal authorities with the presence of hundreds of Santiago residents who enjoyed a varied cultural offer and exhibitions with the most representative art, gastronomy and culture of Santiago.
As part of the closing of the event, the color took over with the picturesque characters of the Cibaeño carnival, the presentation of the Latin Sound Group together with the party samples and “live music” that exposes the Son of KEKA every Sunday between Cuba and Vicente streets. In previous editions of Tourism in Every Corner, Minister Collado has marked the purpose of promoting domestic tourism and inviting Dominicans to discover the cultural treasures and tourism potential of each of these locations.
