The Permanent Attention Office of Santo Domingo Oeste forwarded to Wednesday the 15th of this month the coercive measure requested by the Public Ministry against the father of the young woman murdered along with her husband by a police patrol in Villa Altagracia, accused of bringing several firearms into the country to fire them at judges and prosecutors during one of the hearings in his daughter’s case.
Mariano Antonio Muñoz Concepción is the father of Elizabeth Muñoz, murdered along with her husband Joel Díaz in March 2021 in Villa Altagracia, at the hands of police officers who allegedly mistook them for criminals they were chasing.

The Prosecutor’s Office said that Muñoz Concepción alleged that these weapons were bought in a moment of anger to use them in the next hearing of his daughter’s case in Villa Altagracia, since both the judge and the prosecutors mocked and said the alleged victim was dead , and that what they did was laugh.
Prosecutor Edward López reported that preventive detention and declaration of a complex case were requested.
“He let us know, although he denies it in court, that he bought these weapons in a moment of anger, he sent them and that the idea was to go to the next hearing in Villa Altagracia and shoot everyone, because he says that both the judge and the prosecutors mocked and said the alleged victim was dead and that what they did was laugh,” the prosecutor narrated.
