COE raises to 8 the number of provinces on green alert due to trough and tropical wave

COE eleva a 8 el número de provincias en alerta verde por vaguada y onda tropical

The Emergency Operations Center (COE) raised the number of provinces on green alert to eight due to the influence of a large trough over the national territory, which will continue to generate humidity and instability.

In addition, the trough is expected to receive the indirect contribution of a tropical wave that will pass south of the Dominican Republic.

The provinces under green alert are: Santiago Rodríguez, Puerto Plata, Espaillat, Santiago, Monte Cristi, La Vega, Valverde and Dajabón.

He COE urged the population of these areas to take precautions, recommending avoiding crossing rivers, streams and ravines with high volumes of water, due to the risk of sudden floods.
