COE raises the provinces on yellow alert due to low water to seven

Santo Domingo.- The Emergency Operations Center raised the number of provinces on yellow alert to seven and maintains four on green alert due to the trough that affects the national territory.

The provinces on yellow alert are: San Cristóbal, San Pedro de Macorís, Distrito Nacional and Santo Domingo.

While in green are: María Trinidad Sánchez, Samaná, Duarte, El Seibo, La Romana, La Altagracia and Hato Mayor.

Therefore, the COE recommends along the entire Caribbean coast, operators of fragile, small and medium-sized vessels, navigate with caution, due to events of reduced visibility due to heavy downpours, electric shocks, strong gusts of wind and abnormal waves.

In that sense, it also urges people to refrain from crossing rivers, streams and ravines that have high volumes of water in the provinces under alert.
