COE raises the provinces on green alert due to low water to five

Santo Domingo.– The Emergency Operations Center (COE) raised to five provinces in green alert due to the interaction of a prefrontal trough, which will be generating cloudy weather with moderate to locally strong downpours, thunderstorms and gusts of wind during the afternoon and night over provinces in the northwest, north, northeast, Cibao Valley and border areas.

The provinces on green alert are: Espaillat, María Trinidad Sánchez, Samaná, Duarte and Hermanas Mirabal.

In this sense, people are recommended to refrain from crossing rivers, streams and ravines that have high volumes of water, and not to use spas in the provinces under alert.

The entity released this information through the bulletin issued by the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET).
