COE raises the number of provinces on yellow alert to 5

COE eleva a 5 el número de provincias en alerta amarilla

The Emergency Operations Center (COE) increased the number of provinces on yellow alert to five and maintains six on green alert, due to the fact that in the last hours the remnants of the frontal system produce weak to moderate rains, being locally strong at times, thunderstorms and gusts of wind.

According to the institution, in yellow alert Puerto Plata, Hato Mayor, María Trinidad Sánchez, El Seibo and Espaillat appear. While in green There is Santo Domingo, Samaná, National District, Hermanas Mirabal, La Vega and Duarte.

In that sense, he recommended that people refrain from crossing rivers, streams and ravines that have high volumes of water in the provinces under alert.

Likewise, the COE He urged the population and first response organizations on the Atlantic Coast to strictly follow the restriction contained in the marine report of the Dominican Institute of Metrology (INDOMET).
