Santo Domingo.- The Emergency Operations Center (COE) placed two provinces on green alert, plus the National district, due to the forecast that the Downpours will continue at least until this Tuesday, due to the presence of a trough located over the island.
Meanwhile, the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) predicted that the downpours will have a greater incidence in towns located on the Caribbean coast, including La Altagracia, La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís, San Cristóbal, Santo Domingo, Azua, Peravia and Barahona.

In addition, rainfall is expected El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, San José de Ocoa, San Juan, Elías Piña, Independencia, plus the National Districtaccording to the report.
During the early morning hours of Sunday, October 12, heavy downpours were recorded in sectors of the National District and the province of Santo Domingocausing urban flooding.
