The Emergency Operations Center (COE) reported this Wednesday that three provinces are under yellow alert, while another six, along with the National District, remain on green alert due to the incidence of a trough combined with the predominant east/northeast winds, which will continue to affect the meteorological environment. .
The provinces on yellow alert are:
- Duarte
- Samana
- Maria Trinidad Sanchez
On green alert are:
- Mirabal Sisters
- Puerto Plata
- National District
- Saint Dominic
- Monsignor Nouel
- Espaillat
- Greater Herd
The COE urged the population of the provinces under alert to avoid crossing rivers, streams and ravines with high volumes of water, since they represent a risk to life.
Likewise, a recommendation was issued for the Caribbean coast, specifically from Cabo Engaño (La Altagracia) to Isla Saona, indicating that small vessels must remain in port due to adverse maritime conditions.
