COE places 10 provinces on alert for possible floods What are they?

Santo Domingo. About ten demarcations appear on alert, eight of them in yellow, Due to the warning on possible floods that could cause the downpours that will cause the remnants of the hurricane “Erin.”

The provinces in “Alert yellow” are Espaillat, María Trinidad Sánchez, Puerto Plata, Monte Cristi, Samaná, Hato Mayor, El Seibo and La Altagracia.

Meanwhile, the Santo Domingo and the National District appears in “Green Alert”, according to the Emergency Operations Center (COE).

The downpours, which already affect several Dominican provinces located in the Atlantic, are caused by The cloud bands caused by “Erin”a powerful hurricane who reached category 5.

It is the first hurricane of the Cyclonic season in the 2025 Atlantic, which extends from June 1 to November 30.
