COE maintains 9 provinces on yellow alert and 5 on green alert due to rain

COE mantiene 9 provincias en alerta amarilla y 5 en verde por lluvias

SANTO DOMINGO.- The Emergency Operations Center (COE) reported this Friday that it maintains nine provinces on yellow alert and four and the National District on green, because a humid and unstable environment will remain due to a trough, so Light to moderate rains are expected, with thunderstorms and gusts of wind.

In that sense, on yellow alert are: Puerto Plata, María Trinidad Sánchez, Espaillat, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, Samaná, Duarte, Hermanas Mirabal and La Altagracia.

The provinces on green alert are: Santo Domingo, National District, La Vega, Monte Cristi and Santiago

In this sense, people are recommended to refrain from crossing rivers, streams and ravines that have high volumes of water in the provinces under alert.

Likewise, the population and first response organizations on the Atlantic Coast are urged to strictly follow the restriction of use applied in that area both for the use of boats and for bathers.
