COE maintains 9 provinces on yellow alert; 11 are in green

COE mantiene 9 provincias en alerta amarrilla; 11 están en verde

Santo Domingo.- The Emergency Operations Center (COE) increased the green alert provinces to 11, including the National District, and maintains nine in yellow, due to the continued cloudy weather with downpours, thunderstorms and gusts of wind through the effects associated with a tropical disturbance.

The provinces on yellow alert are: Puerto Plata, Espaillat, Hermanas Mirabal, Duarte, María Trinidad Sánchez, Samana, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, La Altagracia and La Saona.

While in green are: La Romana, San Pedro de Macoris, Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional, San Cristóbal, Perabia, San José de Ocoa, La Vega, San Juan, Santiago and Monte Cristi.

In this sense the COE It recommended that people refrain from crossing rivers, streams and ravines that have high volumes of water in the provinces under alert.

Furthermore, I urge the population and first response organizations on the Atlantic Coast to strictly follow the restriction contained in the marine report of the Dominican Institute of Metrology (INDOMET).
