COE maintains 19 provinces on alert due to tropical wave

SANTO DOMINGO.- The center of Emergency Operations (COE) Six provinces are on yellow alert and 13 are on green alert, because the active tropical wave still has cloud fields associated with it, which will be generating clouds with rain of varying intensities, with thunderstorms and isolated gusts of wind.

In this regard, people are advised to refrain from crossing rivers, streams and ravines with high water volumes in the provinces under alert.

Likewise, small and fragile vessels on the Atlantic coast are urged to navigate with caution near the coastal perimeter and not go far out to sea, due to abnormal wind and waves.

In its report on Friday, the National Meteorological Office forecast a Mostly cloudy skies, local showers, thunderstorms and wind gusts.

The precipitation will be more frequent in the provinces of El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, San Pedro de Macorís, Monseñor Nouel and Sánchez Ramírez. In the afternoon, the precipitation will be more frequent in La Vega, Santiago, Dajabón, Valverde, Santiago Rodríguez, among other provinces below the warning and alert levels, and will be more intense and frequent.
