COE maintains 10 provinces on alert for trough

The Emergency Operations Center (COE), maintains this Friday to 10 provinces in green alert by possible flooding of rivers, streams and ravines as well as sudden or urban floods, due to the fact that a tropical wave and a trough The clouds will be increasing with downpours, thunderstorms and gusts of wind.

The provinces on green alert are Monte Plata, Sánchez Ramírez, San José de Ocoa, Monseñor Nouel, Greater Santo Domingo, Duarte, San Cristóbal, María Trinidad Sánchez, San Pedro de Macorís and Samaná.

The COE recommended that people refrain from crossing rivers, streams and ravines that have a high volume of water or use spas in the provinces under alert.

The report of the National Office of Meteorology (ONAMET), indicates that the abundant humidity and instability over our area, associated with the passage of a tropical wave located over Jamaica, are maintained; and by the presence of a valley to the north of the island. For this reason, cloudy clouds with moderate to heavy downpours, electrical storms and gusts of wind will be generated, mostly concentrated towards locations in the regions: northwest, north, northeast, the Caribbean coast, as well as the Central Cordillera and the border area. .
