Santo Domingo.- The Emergency Operations Center (COE) issued a green alert for 10 provinces due to possible flooding of rivers, streams and ravines with possible sudden or urban flooding due to the rains and soil moisture.

The provinces on alert are: María Trinidad Sánchez, Samaná, Duarte, Puerto Plata, Espaillat, Monte Plata, Mirabal Sisters, La Vega, Monsignor Nouel and Sánchez Ramírez.

While the National Meteorology Office (Onamet) reported that a trough associated with a frontal system located in the northwest of the country and the effects of the east/southeast wind will continue to cause moderate to heavy downpours, electrical storms, possible hailstorms and gusts of wind at times towards sectors of the north, northeast, southeast, southwest, Central Cordillera and the border area.

But, tomorrow, Friday, a decrease is forecast in terms of the intensity and frequency of the rains, since the trough will begin to move away from the country, however, the humidity will remain high during the afternoon if there are cloudy days accompanied by local downpours with isolated thunderstorms. especially over the northeastern, southeastern, southwestern regions and the Central Cordillera.

Temperatures will remain hot due to the incidence of the warm wind from the southeast, especially in urban areas.
