Santo Domingo, DR. – The Emergency Operations Center (COE) has issued an alert due to the progressive deterioration of maritime conditions on both coasts of the country, according to the meteorological bulletin of the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET).
This phenomenon is due to the incidence of abnormal winds and waves that could represent a danger to boats and people who are in coastal areas.
On the Atlantic coast, operators of small and medium-sized vessels are recommended to remain in port from Cabo Engaño (La Altagracia) to Miches (El Seibo). For the rest of the coast, it is advisable to navigate close to the coastal perimeter and avoid venturing out to sea, due to abnormal winds and waves that could generate risky situations.

These adverse weather conditions are expected to persist for the next 24 to 48 hours.
