COE incrementa a 9 las provincias en alerta amarilla y 7 en verde

The Emergency Operations Center (COE), increased this Thursday to 9 provinces on yellow alert and maintains 7 on green, due to the fact that from early hours, rains of varying intensity occur, mainly towards the Atlantic coast, as a result of the incidence of the frontal system just north of the Dominican territory.

The provinces on yellow alert are: Samaná, La Altagracia, Duarte (especially Bajo Yuna), El Seibo, Hermanas Mirabal, Espaillat, Puerto Plata, María Trinidad Sánchez and Hato Mayor.

On green alert are: Monseñor Nouel, La Vega, Monte Plata, San Cristóbal, San José de Ocoa, Monte Cristi and San Pedro de Macorís.

In that sense, people were recommended to refrain from crossing rivers, streams and ravines that have high volumes of water in the provinces under alert.

Likewise, it recommended that operators of fragile, small and medium-sized vessels navigate near the coastal perimeter along the entire Atlantic coast, from Monte Cristi to La Altagracia, due to abnormal waves and wind.
