COE increases the provinces on alert to 23

Santo Domingo.- The Center of Operations of Emergencys (COE) provinces increased to 23 on alert including the National Districtbecause a trough with the predominant wind from the east and the local orography will influence the generation of cloudy increases, moderate downpours, thunderstorms and gusts of wind.

In that sense, the town in red alert is San José de Ocoa. In yellow are Mount Silver and Peravia.

While, in green Monseñor Nouel, Independencia, Puerto Plata, San Cristóbal, Azua, La Altagracia, Duarte, Bahoruco, Santiago, Santiago Rodríguez, Barahona, La Romana, San Juan, Pedernales, Valverde Mao, San Pedro de Macorís and Santo Domingo (National District) are located.

He COE recommended that the population refrain from crossing rivers, streams and ravines that have high volumes of water in the provinces under alert.

Furthermore, in case of emergency, he urged citizens to contact the Civil defensethe Armed forcesthe Red Crossthe National Policethe Fire Departments and the Emergency Operations Center through phones 809-472-0909, 9-1-1 and 462 of the OGTIC.

The entity of emergencies reiterated that it remains vigilant regarding the evolution of the Hurricane Melissa and the weather conditions that may affect the country in the coming hours.
