The boards of the Codelco northern zone unions rejected the visit that the presidential candidate of the Christian Social Front will make, Jose Antonio Kast, to Calama, Antofagasta Region, for Saturday, December 4. Along these lines, they declared the former deputy as “persona no grata”.
In a statement, they indicated that Kast represents a “threat” to “the entire community of Calama and the country (…) understanding that their proposals and proposals are a great setback in labor, civil, democratic and environmental issues, and above all they mark a detriment to the mining sector, both for subcontractors and for plant workers. “
“Kast is not well received in our city, because his program does not recognize the main demands of social movements, and also his program is a clear threat to women and gender equality,” they added.
“The people of Chile demand social changes in equity and justice, without harming the economy or the well-being of the country. Kast, in his program, promotes the opposite (…) That is why we reaffirm that his visit is not pleasant for Calama “, they closed.
