COBA closes 13 night businesses and grocery stores in La Vega

COBA cierra 13 negocios nocturnos y colmados en La Vega

LA VEGA.- The Public Ministry, as part of the work carried out in the Joint Task Force in La Vega and in support of the program «Guarantee of Peace» of the Ministry of the Interior and Police, closed 13 night businesses and grocery stores that have violated the provisions of the Law.

In the Joint Task Force, the Public Ministry works in coordination with the National Police, the Alcoholic Beverage Control Directorate (COBA), the Intelligence Department (Dintel), the Central Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Dicrim) and the Directorate National Drug Control Commission (DNCD).

Among the closed establishments are: El Túnel VIP, in the Cabuya sector; Drink Alto Voltage, in the El Riito Villa Esperanza sector; Colmado Charital, in the La Uva sector; Saga Bar, in the city center; Colmado Los Primos, Manhattan Bar, in Jima Abajo and Colmado Peña Ranchito, in the La Rosa sector,

The El Mechón Brothel, in Jima Abajo, was also closed; Colmado El Ciego, in the La Joyita sector, Las Yayas; Colmado Sandy, Cutupú sector; La Esquina Bar, Jima Abajo; Colmado La Altagracia, Cruce de Cabuya and Cafeteria Nena.

These establishments were closed for incurring violations of the provisions of the norm, such as noise pollution, the presence of minors inside, occupation of public space, causing injuries with weapons inside the premises, and the violation of closing times established by law.

The La Vega Joint Task Force calls on owners of similar businesses to abide by current regulations. Failure to comply not only endangers the peace and safety of the community, but also exposes businesses to severe penalties, such as permanent closure.

The Public Ministry has indicated that the objective of these interventions is to safeguard tranquility and security in the demarcation of La Vega, and with this the authorities reaffirm their commitment to continue working incessantly to guarantee public peace, and invite the business owners to collaborate, avoiding the violations that have led to recent closures.

The prosecution body emphasized, noting that, “in view of these measures, the owners of other establishments must become aware of the reasons that led to the closure of these 13 businesses, to prevent the same consequences from being repeated in their own establishments. These actions are carried out in compliance with the Law, with the sole purpose of protecting the well-being of citizens.”
