MADRID, Spain.- The crew of the coast guard Raymond Evans repatriated 174 Cuban migrants to the Island between Friday and Saturday, after several operations near the Florida coast.
As specified by the United States Coast Guard (USCG, for its acronym in English) through a releaseLast Tuesday around 5:00 in the morning, the crew of the Coast Guard cutter William Trump alerted the watchmen of the Key West Sector of an immigrant boat that was about 50 miles south of Cudjoe Key.
That same day, but in the afternoon, there were six other warnings of rustic boats near the United States: the first about 32 miles southwest of Cayo Marquesas; the second about 5 miles south of Cayo Largo; the third about 35 miles southeast of Islamorada; the fourth about 12 miles southwest of Cal Sal Bank, Bahamas.

In the latter case, a C-130 crew from Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater alerted Sector Key West watchers to a rustic boat in the water and people waving their arms for help.
Later, the watchmen of the Key West Sector were notified of a rustic boat about 15 miles south of Boca Grande.
The last operation that day occurred after watchmen in the Key West Sector were alerted to a fishing vessel, about 25 miles south of Key Marquesas.
While on Wednesday another three groups of Cuban migrants were rescued by the Coast Guard: two near Cayo Marquesas and another south of Rebecca Shoal.
In all three cases, the Cubans traveled in rustic boats.
On Thursday, at approximately 2:15 pm, another Cuban migrant boat was spotted about 25 miles southwest of Key West.
In releasing the information, Cmdr. Tanner Stiehl, Coast Guard District Seven, stated, “Crews from the Coast Guard and our partner agencies are in full swing saving lives and promoting safe and legal migration in the Straits of Florida and the Windward and Mona Passages.
In the recently concluded fiscal year, a total of 1,682 Cuban migrants were detained by the Coast Guard while They were trying to get to the United States.
