The works of High Performance College (COAR) of Tacnaover 28,148 square meters of area, present 5.5% physical progress to date, reported Southern Peru, a company that is in charge of this project together with the Ministry of Education (Minedu) and the regional government.
Currently, reinforced concrete works are being carried out at the foundation level, in the education, residence, general services, and administration sectors. Also the qualification and placement of corrugated steel, manually and lifting with the tower crane.
It is worth mentioning that the educational infrastructure project is executed through the Works for Taxes (Oxl) modality, for the benefit of 300 Tacnean students of academic excellence and their families, teachers, administrative staff, among others.
In addition, it generates a socioeconomic impact at the local and regional level, through the generation of new sources of direct and indirect employment, revitalization of the local economy, acquisition of goods and/or services.
This contribution includes the equipment and furniture of the institution, as well as the following components:
- Education | Two levels, mezzanine, 12 classrooms, four laboratories (biology, physics, chemistry, robotics); SS.HH.; art workshop, management environments and pedagogical direction (auxiliary room and materials deposit), archive and photocopying sectors.
- Home | Three levels, multipurpose and television rooms, 59 rooms with hygienic services, differentiated by gender; six monitoring stations, four rooms for students with disabilities, mezzanine, cleaning rooms, dumps.
- Library | Two levels, two pedagogical innovation classrooms, preparation and maintenance office storage, five innovation project rooms, two reading rooms, SS.HH., a computer and audiovisual resources room, group study cubicles.
- sports block | Two levels, gym, swimming pool, multipurpose sports slabs, SS.HH. with dressing rooms differentiated by gender, music workshop, teaching and rehearsal rooms, first aid area, deposits.
- Exterior works | Ramps, sidewalks, storm drains, curbs, protection railings, flag poles, electrical and sanitary installations, communication systems (structured wiring) and fire detection and alarm systems; generator set, ground cover planting, new trees and pergolas.
- outdoor areas | Circulation without roofing (2,488.34 m²), articulating axis (588.33 m²), welfare belt (295.68 m²), entrance squares (2,240.20 m²), integration (623.43 m²) and recreation (693.55 m²); green areas (9,783.42 m²).
- Management | Offices of welfare and student development, administration and General Management; and the security control environment and SS.HH.
- General services | Basement with pump room and entrance to cisterns, generator set, electrical substation, panel room, workshop, garbage deposit, security control, warehouses, laundry, topic, kitchen, dining room, SS.HH.

Comprehensive training in a High Performance School (COAR) is part of Law No. 28044 General Education Law and the National Educational Project for 2021, whose purpose is to train people capable of achieving their own fulfillment on key principles such as equity, inclusion, interculturality and educational quality.
The new COAR Tacna will contribute to optimizing the levels of educational excellence in the region, whose students rank first in the country in educational quality for the fourth consecutive year in 2021, according to the Minedu Student Census Evaluation (ECE), which evaluates the achievements in math, reading, social studies, and science and technology.
Likewise, Tacna obtained first place in the education category, for the seventh consecutive year, according to the 2022 Regional Competitiveness Index of the Peruvian Institute of Economy (IPE).
