A commission of the National Government and the leaders of the Coalition for the Unity of Colón (CUCO) signed a commitment note that ends the work stoppage in the province and seals the commitment of the parties to follow up on all projects and programs social benefits previously agreed, for the benefit of all the inhabitants of the province of Colón.
The commitment note was signed, on behalf of the Government, by Guillermo Salazar, director of the Development Planning Institute, the Minister of Labor and Workforce Development in charge, Roger Tejada, and the general coordinator of CUCO Román Macías.
The unemployed organizations and their representatives decided to suspend the strike at the time of signing the document, in an official act that took place this Sunday, May 29, 2022, in the city of Colón.
In the document, the National Government reaffirmed the commitment to achieve the best benefits for the province of Colón, as expressed in previous meetings on November 5 and 11, 2021, May 12, 2022 and May 26, 2021. 2022.
The Tripartite Commission for the development of Colón (made up of civil organizations, the private sector, educators and the Government) will follow up on pending issues, with the willingness to continue the dialogue to address the various problems that afflict citizens.
Participating in the meeting where the commitment note was signed was the Minister of Labor and Labor Development in charge, Roger Tejada, Guillermo Salazar, director of the Development Planning Institute, the director of the Land Traffic and Transportation Authority (ATTT) Carlos Ordoñez, presidential adviser Ali Waked. The Coalition for the Unity of Colón (CUCO) was attended by the general coordinator Román Macías, and the directors Edgardo Voitier and Florencio Murillo (representative of the carriers).
