In the midst of the great controversy that the Supreme Court decision for co-participation in favor of the City of Buenos Aires has generated, Horacio Rodriguez Larreta criticized President Alberto Fernández, after he decided not to abide by the ruling of the High Court.
For Buenos Aires head of governmentthe head of state seeks to “nullify justice”, because in order to Horacio Rodriguez Larreta “The president decided to violate the constitutional order and undermine the rule of law.”
In this frame, Horacio Rodriguez Larreta sentenced: “We are not going to allow it”, since the president’s decision “is not against the City: it is against the National Constitution, legal security in our country, it is against any possibility of development” .
Likewise, the president pointed out that this decision has no precedents and is of great harm to society, for which he questioned: Who is going to trust a country where the decisions of Justice are not respected? Who is going to invest? Who will generate work? What can we Argentines expect if the president himself does not comply with the law? This exceeds all imaginable limits”.
And he added: “The president decided to break the constitutional order, completely violate the rule of law and attack democracy. Since the return of democracy, there is no history of a president not complying with a ruling of the Court.
For the Buenos Aires head of government, the decision of the Head of State is due to a move by Kirchnerism, for which he stated: “We are not going to allow them to take the Republic and leave Argentina on the brink of the abyss.”
Likewise, he assured that they will take legal measures against those who do not comply with the ruling: “We are going to make a presentation before the Court reporting this non-compliance and we are going to denounce the organizations, each one of the officials who are responsible for failing to comply with this ruling.”
Larreta assured that the measure does not affect the provinces
With great concern, the Buenos Aires president He expressed that he did not understand how some governors supported the president’s decision, since the Court’s ruling does not affect the provinces.
“I am surprised that the governors follow the president, because they know the institutional danger it means. The governors were voted to defend their provinces,” he said, adding: “This ruling does not harm the provinces at all, this is in favor, because it sets the precedent that the government will never again be able to take funds from the provinces”.
