CNTE teachers burst into Sheinbaum event in the Mixteca of Oaxaca

CNTE teachers burst into Sheinbaum event in the Mixteca of Oaxaca

During the presentation of the progress of the Lázaro Cárdenas Plan to improve infrastructure and social programs in the Oaxacan Mixteca, teachers from Section 22 used horns and megaphones to convey their demands to President Claudia Sheinbaum.

“Comrades, can you hear me? Those who are with the megaphone… well, let’s continue because they don’t want to listen,” said Sheinbaum upon realizing that it was a demonstration.

To try to contain the slogans, attendees gathered at the “Marco Antonio Ramírez” Sports Unit in Teposcolula shouted cheers at the president such as “It is an honor to be with Claudia today” and “President!”, while Section 22 maintained its protest.

Despite this, the teachers intensified the criticism throughout the speech. Among their demands are the repeal of the educational reform and the elimination of the ISSSTE Law, to which they attribute effects to the pension system.

“Here and now, with the Coordinator”; “Claudia, she said, that everything would change”; “Claudia, you lied, about removing the ISSSTE law” were part of the slogans that the teachers shouted.

Hours before, at an event held in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, the president also faced demonstrations from Section 22.
