disastrous meeting
At the end of today’s meeting held at the National Social Security Council (CNSS), the president of the Dominican Medical Association, Senén Caba, described the meeting as “disastrous.”
This is so because the union’s proposals such as the expansion of the Basic Plan, the increase in the amount dedicated to the purchase of medicines, the granting of new codes, among others, were not as expected.
“What they said is that there were 55 pesos for everyone… I took out a napkin and started crying with them, and put my hands in my pockets to leave everything I had,” Caba said sarcastically.
While the president of the National Association of Private Clinics and Hospitals (Andeclip), Rafael Mena, assured that the offers that have been made to them as a union do not meet their demands.
In this sense, he stated that they offered him 6% in laboratories and 15% in other procedures, however, he explained that what they are requesting is a 25% increase for clinics in general, not fractioned.
