The appointment of Carlos Reyes, as manager of the National Health Fund (CNS) Santa Cruz has provoked the rejection of workers and doctors of that institution, who demand his dismissal.
Last week the workers carried out a 48-hour strike, for this reason they entered an intermediate room until this Monday, when they meet with the national manager, at the Government headquarters. It is expected that they will reach a decision in the evening hours. If the approach is not positive, a 72-hour strike is planned for Tuesday 28.
Among their demands is the call for a new administrator, career professional and a suitable profile for the position. They are looking for the position to be institutionalized, since many processes are left half done if the internships continue, according to Luis Pereira, representative of the CNS Workers’ Union of Santa Cruz, Casegural.
For their part, the doctors, gathered in the Federation of Medical Unions and Related Branches (Fesimras) CNS announced a 24-hour strike for next Thursday 30, also in rejection of the appointment of Kings. Outpatient care will be suspended, but emergency care will be maintained.
“(…) Due to the excessive subjugation of the manager of the CNS to aappropriate the economic and financial resources of the entities of short-term insurance, with the sole purpose of carrying out its prebendalist policy”, said Nancy Pereira, executive secretary of Fesimras CNS, on Monday. The doctor asked the insured of this “health fund” to support the defense of the institution.
In a press conference on Wednesday 22nd, the national manager of the CNS, José Luis Martínez, referred to the protests by workers and doctors from Santa Cruz and indicated that he perceives that there is a rejection of the appointment of Reyes because “he is not a doctor of his thread”also stated that these groups try to prevent transparency in the CNS and alluded to the phantom contracts that were discovered.

For its part, Santa Cruz health workers will stop this Tuesday 28 in claim for the non-payment of salary increase (which should be effective until May 31) at the three health levels, both in the city and in the province.
