Registration for the 32nd edition of the Summer Scholarship Program (PBV), of the National Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM), is open until September 23rd. Free of charge, registrations can be made over the internet.
The program is aimed at undergraduate students in the areas of Exact and Earth Sciences, Engineering, Technologies, Biological Sciences and Health, from Latin America and the Caribbean and has already welcomed more than 450 students throughout its editions.
The projects developed during the PBV will be proposed by teams of researchers and experts from CNPEM. The approach will be multi and interdisciplinary in the areas of health, agriculture, environment, renewable energy and materials; quantum technologies, enabling technologies: science with synchrotron light, bioimaging, synthesis and characterization of materials, particle accelerators, engineering and scientific instrumentation, nanoscale characterization, micro and nanofabrication, synthesis, theory and data science.
Immersive experience
“PBV offers an immersive experience in one of the most important research centers in Brazil, connecting students with the frontiers of knowledge in various areas. Only upon arriving at the CNPEM campus in January 2025 will students be told what the project is, who their advisors will be and which CNPEM Unit they will be taking part in the program,” the organization reported.
Candidates approved for the program will be welcomed at the CNPEM campus in Campinas, in the state of São Paulo, starting on January 8, 2025. Students will be offered several benefits: round-trip airfare, psychological and pedagogical support, travel assistance insurance, food, lodging and daily transportation between the temporary residence and CNPEM.
