The decision of the National Primary Commission (CNP) on the technical support in the elections to be held on October 22, should be announced in the coming days, the inclination is that the conditions of the National Electoral Council (CNE).
During the program 123 of “Cocuyo Claro and Raspao”broadcast this Thursday, May 18, the journalist specializing in electoral issues, Ibis Leon, stressed that the process of these elections is in the phase of the preliminary registration of pre-candidates. In his opinion, it is important because it is the first filter that applicants have to overcome. He added that up to now the CNP is at a crossroads because it has to obtain technical assistance from the CNE without jeopardizing the identity of the voters.
In the interview conducted by Mely Reyesdirector of Efecto Cocuyo, and Xabier Coscojuelamember of the Editorial Board of SuchWhichLeón said that for the National Primary Commission it is important to specify the participation of Venezuelans abroad.
«The response of the CNE will be decisive for the scenarios that are to come. There are 16 political organizations in this instance and of those 16, 9 are in favor of technical assistance from the CNE”, he said.

He pointed out that the CNE only recognizes 107,000 Venezuelans out of the more than 7 million who are abroad and of those, it is estimated that 5 million are of voting age, but “unfortunately, there are two million Venezuelans who are abroad and are going to be excluded because they are not registered in the Electoral Registry”, he highlighted.
The regulation that they published for voting abroad speaks of 72 cities in the world and opens the possibility of using a dual system —manual or automated— on voting day depending on whether the logistical support of the National Electoral Council is achieved.
