The National College of Journalists (CNP) requested this Friday, January 3, freedom for eight journalists and press workers arbitrarily detained in the country.

Those arrested before the presidential elections are: Gabriel González, Carlos Julio Rojas, Luis López and Ramón Centeno, while Víctor Ugas, José Camero, Biagio Pilieri and Ronald Carreño were arrested after the elections following the wave of protests unleashed against the results issued by the National Electoral Council (CNE), which gave victory to Nicolás Maduro for a third term.
