The National Council of Justice (CNJ) confirmed this Monday (9) that it received a new complaint of sexual harassment against minister Marco Buzzi, of the Superior Court of Justice (STJ).
According to the CNJ, the alleged victim was heard by the National Justice Inspectorate, which opened a new disciplinary complaint to investigate the complaint. The procedure is under judicial secrecy.
Last week, the council received the first complaint against Marco Buzzi, 68 years old. An 18-year-old girl, who is the daughter of a couple of friends of the minister, accuses him of trying to grab her while swimming in the sea.
The episode would have occurred last month, when the minister, the young woman and her parents were on vacation in Balneário Camboriú, on the coast of Santa Catarina.
Faced with the accusation, the STJ opened an inquiry to investigate the case. Right away, Buzzi presented a medical certificate and is away from work for medical reasons.
Defense
In a statement, lawyers Paulo Emílio Catta Pretta and Maria Fernanda Ávila denied the accusations and said they had not yet had access to the procedures opened at the CNJ.
“Minister Marco Buzzi did not commit any improper act, as will be possible to demonstrate in due course within the scope of the procedures already initiated”, stated the defense.
