The pact foresees the establishment of a common agenda on priority themes that are defined by the entities that are part of the group and aim to obtain concrete results in the quality of public education.

In the assessment of the president of the CNJ and the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Minister Luiz Fux, the common agenda could contribute to the challenges that Brazilian education faced during the covid-19 pandemic, which caused delays in student learning.

“We cannot remain inert in the face of this scenario. Education is not restricted to knowing how to read, it comprises the construction of a personal identity and collective knowledge, sharing knowledge and culture, as well as the accumulation of diverse skills to build the human being in an integral way, in his physique, his intellect, his emotions and his spirit”, he said.

The National Pact for Education was launched in November last year and also brings together state education managers and councils, the Legislative and Judiciary powers, the Public Ministry and public defenders’ offices.
