The National Electoral Council (CNE) reported that it is evaluating its possible service in the primary elections of the opposition coalition Plataforma Unitaria, which intends to choose a unitary electoral candidate who aspires to the presidency of the Republic.
The CNE reported that it “appointed a technical commission to determine the scope of its eventual assistance in a primary election, in accordance with the request made by the national commission for primaries of the opposition alliance, Plataforma Unitaria,” refers to the message posted by the CNE. “This commission will be chaired by the highest authority of the CNE, Pedro Calzadilla, and will be made up of rectors Roberto Picón, Carlos Quintero and Leonel Párica,” the Venezuelan organization detailed.
The aforementioned commission, which has been created by the electoral body, “should meet shortly with representatives of the opposition partisan body.”
On February 1st, the national primaries commission sent a communication to the CNE in which it ratified a set of requests, including the formation of a joint technical team. In December, the rectors received the members of that commission.

The Unitary Platform has dialogued with the Venezuelan Government in recent months with a view to reaching joint agreements for the good of the country
