Barahona. – With the aim of strengthening the prevention of drug use and promoting the comprehensive development of young people in vulnerable situations, the National Drug Council (CND) joined the “Youth with B for Neighborhood” program, an initiative of the Ministry of Youth.
The program, carried out in the community of Camboya, in the municipality of Barahona, had the participation of the CND and 18 other government institutions, in a joint effort to improve the living conditions of young people in vulnerable neighborhoods.
The incorporation of the governing body of drug policies in the country, headed by Major General (sp) Jaime Marte Martínez, into this initiative is the result of the strengthening of inter-institutional ties with the Ministry of Youth, headed by Carlos Valdez.
Preventive day
During the day, the CND technical team offered awareness talks and recreational activities, complemented by educational activities focused on preventing the consumption of psychoactive substances.
The presence of the CND, which had a stand at the event, is crucial to strengthening preventive strategies in vulnerable communities. Its participation in the program is part of the inter-institutional cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Youth.

This joint effort seeks to empower young people through opportunities that promote their social inclusion and personal development, through recreational and cultural activities.
The MJ’s “Youth with B for Neighborhood” program is part of President Luis Abinader’s policies to guarantee the inclusion and well-being of Dominican youth throughout the country.
