The growing episodes of violence recorded in the Metropolitan region have many commercial organizations on edge, such as the National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism (CNC), who called on the authorities to take action on the matter.
“As representatives of trade, service and tourism companies, we once again raise our voices to make visible the true nightmare that working in the sector means in the current conditions of insecurity in the country,” they indicated.

The CNC specified in emmol that “today we learned of the murder of Teo, who died of a gunshot while trying to repel the assault on his minimarket in Santiago Centro, added to this is the aggression and destruction suffered by small and medium-sized merchants in the Lastarria neighborhood on Monday just passed.”
“The increase in itinerant commerce outside commercial premises which, according to the figures of our victimization survey, greatly increases the commission of crimes, a phenomenon that occurs equally in the main cities of the country,” they added.
Finally, they stated: “We call on the authorities to comply with their obligation, which is to ensure the safety of citizens, by implementing a specific plan to deal with the unbridled violence that continues to attack the sector”.
