After several days with concerts, exhibitions, book presentations, plays and a day of archeology, among others, today the 28th edition of the Ibero-American Culture Festival concludes in Holguín.
Organized by the Casa de Iberoamérica, the event brought together artists, promoters and researchers from more than 15 nations and delegates from several provinces around the culture and traditions of fifteen regions, and recalled the three decades of cultural debate on the encounter between America and Europe in 1492.
In the program of the event, with activities on-line, the opening concert at the Eddy Suñol Theater of the Holguín Symphony Orchestra stood out; and the “Cubanía Concert”, by the Chamber Orchestra, both conducted by maestro Oreste Saavedra.
The traditional parade was carried out from the El Quijote park to the Casa de Iberoamérica, the Iberian Cultural Center returned to its headquarters in the La Periquera Provincial Museum and the Iberocuento event premiered the work Truce, based on the novel by the well-known Uruguayan writer Mario Benedetti. The staging was by the Oral Narration Company Words to the Wind.
For its part, the Ibero-American Congress of Thought met from the rooms of the Hotel Pernik on the 25th and 26th. A hundred speakers and guests participated, with the presence of Italy, Chile and Canada, as well as seven Cuban provinces, including Santa Clara, Camagüey, Santiago de Cuba and Las Tunas.
