A fact is considered news when it has some factors of interest to many people. In journalistic theory, six factors are handled: topicality, novelty, proximity, significance, discovery, conflict, prominence, magnitude and rarity. To that list, the Bolivian Erick Torrico has added human interest, rivalry, drama, utility, rights, entertainment, criminality, morality and sex and, finally, the privacy of celebrities.

Prominence is the relevant character that some people, places, animals or things have and that temporarily places them above their similar ones. That is why what the authorities do is of interest, although their actions are not necessarily linked to their functions.

Due to prominence, the media is full of references to celebrities and their actions, including their privacy. That’s why Torrico included your privacy as a separate factor of interest.

That is the reason why many media outlets gave extensive coverage to Lily Melgar, the nanny of the children of the Colombian singer-songwriter Shakira and the former Spanish soccer player Gerard Piqué. They didn’t look for her just because she was her babysitter, but because of the role she had in that couple’s soap opera. To make it clear: Piqué had an extramarital relationship with Clara Chía and Lily, who found out everything, told Shakira even though the “ball-kicker” was her employer. That fact triggered the separation of the media couple.

As expected, Piqué fired the nanny without paying her any benefits, but the singer not only took her in and compensated her, but also made her famous by dedicating the song “El Jefe” to her in which she says “Lily Melgar, this is for you.” song, they didn’t pay you compensation.’”

We all know the Shakira-Piqué scandal, because it even appears in our soup, and, in the last episode, the soccer player brought out his hatred for Bolivia in a television conversation with the Argentine singer María Becerra. When she said that she would give two shows in our country, the former soccer player replied that “people were expecting Barcelona, Santander, Madrid, (but) Bolivia? Fuck!”.

His offensive expressions deserved immediate responses and he had to justify himself, but it is clear that he spoke out of spite. Bolivia reminds him of the Bolivian Lily Melgar, who uncovered his infidelity.

Thanks to the friendship that Samuel Blanco gave me, I was able to learn what the lives of many soccer players were like and that is why I know that most of them are characterized by a low IQ. If you take into account that he exchanged an exceptional woman, not only for her talent and beauty but also for her intelligence, with another for whom the media has to invent merits, Piqué does not seem to be the exception to the sad rule of ” ball kicker.”

“Clearly” can be seen that he not only spoke out of spite, but also because he was not very clear-minded.
