Cleaning operation carried out in Calidonia

Hundreds of workers and volunteers took to the streets of Calidonia from the early hours of this Saturday in a mega inter-institutional operation called “My Clean Neighborhood”, organized by the Urban and Home Cleaning Authority.

It is a full day that included, among other actions: sweeping, sidewalk washing with pump cars from the Fire Department, fumigation, grass cutting, mechanical sweeping, waste collection at different points in this district and the delivery of bags of garbage for use in cars.

Pedro Castillo Garibaldo, General Administrator of the Urban and Home Cleaning Authority, said that it is about minimizing the lack of collection in some points and seeking a better structure in the frequency of routes.

The General Administrator of the AAUD, reported that these operations will be carried out in all districts of the Capital district.

He called for a correct disposal of waste.

About ten dump trucks, BCP pump cars, four grills, two mechanical sweepers and six backhoes supported the collection and cleaning work of more than 75 ants, collectors and volunteers.

The main points of this day were: Perejil, La Cuchilla de Calidonia, San Miguel, Llano Bonito, Cl. P, Cl. 29, Vía España, Ave. Central, El Marañón, La Exposición, Parque Mahatma Gandhi, La Magnolia, surroundings of the Republic of Venezuela School, Ave. Justo Arosemena, Mercadito de Calidonia, Cape Verde, among others.

Parallel to the cleaning action, the AAUD inspection team carried out inspections in different businesses. He made calls for attention due to the lack of a waste disposal area, water tanks without a door, among other anomalies. They also offered teaching on the correct disposal of waste.
The clean-up day had the support of different government entities.
