The National Government begins this Thursday, December 1, the operation “Cleaned the Neighborhood” whose purpose is to guarantee the collection of garbage and cleaning of the most critical points of the capital city during the month of December.
The inter-institutional operation “Cleaned the Neighborhood” in which the Urban and Home Cleaning Authority (AAUD), the Government of the Province of Panama and the Community Boards will intervene, consists of the collection of waste, cleaning of gutters and sidewalks of the corregimientos of the capital district throughout the month of December starting this Thursday the 1st in Calidonia and San Miguel.
For this activity, which will last from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm, the AAUD, with the support of the Calidonia Community Board, will put properly equipped personnel, backhoes, dump trucks and collectors on the streets, which will travel the main avenues from Calidonia, starting at La Cuchilla and Q de San Miguel street, (former Chesterfield building).
“Healthy Neighborhoods” will continue on Friday in these populous corregimientos, in order to achieve the complete cleaning of the most critical points and later it will move on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 to the corregimientos of El Chorrillo, Santa Ana and Curundú simultaneously .
In these corregimientos, the tasks will be concentrated on streets 18, 19, 21, 25, 26 and 27 of El Chorrillo, while, in Santa Ana, the cleaning staff will focus their work around the National Institute, the Good Year booth , Calle 17, Avenida Ancón, Patio Pinel and the pedestrian street.
Meanwhile in Curundú, the community intervened by the “little ants” and the personnel that collects and cleans the streets, will be Santa Cruz with the participation of the Communal Board of that corregimiento.
This week, the National Government, at the initiative of the President of the Republic Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, announced the creation of a National Cleaning Operations Center to solve the problem caused by the accumulation of garbage and avoid a health crisis.
