With more than 300 books, including some translated into four languages such as Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese, and with bestsellers on Amazon, the Panamanian writer, Claudio de Castro never gave up and went to conquer his sleep.
For seven years, every Saturday he went with his wife and young children to the Punta Paitilla post office to send countless envelopes with his manuscripts to different publishers; Quite excited, he opened a couple of envelopes imagining that it would be pleasant news, however, all were rejection. “They all said no, an editorial even told me: ‘don’t send us your book again, we don’t want to hear from you,” he said.
After these long seven years, one day he sat in his car disappointed and told his wife: “I am not going to give up, I do not accept to give up, I am going to conquer my dream, that some publisher will one day publish a book for me.”
So it was. The key to his success: persistence, was a key element for Editorial San Pablo de Colombia to publish a book for him and from there, other publishing houses in Spain, Argentina and Chile.
Recently, this pen and paper lover released his new book entitled “365 Days with God”, which is a daily reflection.
Besides this work, he has two other books: “A Thousand Reasons to be a Happy Catholic”, and “Here I am Lord to do your will”, all under the Catholic religious theme.
De Castro has readers in Japan, Africa, and other parts of the world. “Dreams are to be conquered, there are people who cannot conquer their dreams or get ahead and it is for a very simple reason: they do not pray,” the writer remarked.
