“We have not left the people of Guerrero alone nor the people of Oaxaca; In Guerrero we have invested 6,659 million pesos, the attention to the emergency has been that size, it also includes the support that is in process after the census that the Welfare Secretariat has already carried out; and in the case of Oaxaca, we have invested, and also with the support of Welfare, 1,055 million pesos,” indicated the president.
On the other hand, he announced, after a detailed report with the support, cleaning and rehabilitation actions in the affected areas, that the emergency phase in both entities was concluded.
“Today we can say that the emergency has ended and that we have moved on to the next stage; That does not mean, for all the inhabitants of Guerrero and Oaxaca who know that they have to receive support, that this is over; there is the cleaning support and then, according to the census, the following supports will be given,” said Sheinbaum Pardo.
2,960 million pesos will be delivered to those affected in Acapulco
Ariadna Montiel, Secretary of Welfare, reported that, after the censuses in 66 municipalities of Guerrero and Oaxaca, a total of 153,723 affected homes will be granted. a total of 2,960 million pesos for the residents of Acapulco and 358 million for Oaxaca.
“We are going to deliver the cleaning support which is 8,000 pesos in the case of this program. Then we will provide support for damages, depending on the type of damage: for minor and medium damage, 15,000 pesos; for major damage, 35,000 pesos. In the case of homes that have been affected by total loss, which are in a very serious situation, they will receive 60,000 pesos,” he explained.
The Secretary of National Defense, Ricardo Trevilla Trejo, reported that, since September 24, 7,507 troops were deployed and 249 vehicles, including tankers and support trucks for the distribution of food and drinking water.
In addition, he specified that, in total, more than 14,000 food items, 19 tons of tortillas, and more than 2,000 medical consultations were offered.
On the other hand, the debris removal work has involved 73,151 cubic meters of mud removed and the clearing of 28,000 square meters of roads, in addition to the installation of four water purification plants and six community kitchens.
Raymundo Morales, head of the Secretary of the Navy, explained that the agency distributed 39,946 groceries, 319,500 liters of water and carried out the rescue of 2,024 people. Additionally, latrines were installed and dredging and desilting work was carried out in the La Sabana River and other high-risk areas to prevent future flooding.
Jesús Antonio Esteva, Secretary of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation, detailed the work carried out to restore the road network, which included the release of 2,000 kilometers of roads and the repair of 63 bridges in Guerrero and Oaxaca.
