The 439th edition of Fla-Flu moves Maracanã, in Rio de Janeiro, this Sunday (29), at 18:00 (Brasília time), for the eighth round of the Brazilian Championship. The classic will be broadcast live on Rádio Nacional, with narration by André Luís Mendes, comments by Waldir Luiz, reporting by Rodrigo Campos and duty by Wagner Gomes.
The moment is favorable for Fluminense, which has 11 points and has not lost for seven matches, three for the Brazilian, where Fernando Diniz’s team was victorious in the last two clashes, against Athletico-PR (2 to 1) and Fortaleza (1 to 0). Flamengo de Paulo Sousa, with nine points, is undefeated for five games, with four triumphs in the period, but only one of them for the national championship, over Goiás (1-0). Both try to enter the fight, once and for all, for a place in the competition’s G6.
If the advantage in the confrontation is red-black, with 159 victories, against 138 of the rival and 141 draws, the recent history is positive for the green, white and maroon side, which has not lost Fla-Flu for a year. In this period, there were five games and four triumphs for Fluminense. In the only equality, precisely in the last duel, the taste was bitter for Flamengo, since the 1 to 1 in the final match of the Carioca Championship gave the state title to Tricolor, benefited by the 2 to 0 of the first game.
In Flu, Fernando Diniz will not be able to count on the side Mario Pineida, the defenders Nino (both injuries in the left thigh) and David Duarte (swelling in the left knee) and the striker Fred (problem in the left eye). Midfielder Felipe Melo, in turn, returned to training after undergoing arthroscopy in his right knee and may be an option on the bench.
The probable tricolor formation this Sunday will have: Fábio; Yago, Luccas Claro, David Braz and Marlon; Wellington, André, Nathan and Paulo Henrique Ganso; Luiz Henrique and German Cano.
On the Flamengo side, the right absences are goalkeeper Santos (left thigh injury), defender Fabrício Bruno (left foot), defender Filipe Luís (left calf), midfielder Diego (pubalgia) and striker Matheus França (fibula right leg). Striker Vitinho, however, is recovering from an injury to his right thigh and has been listed. If he enters the field, the player will complete 100 matches for Rubro-Negro.
Paulo Sousa should start the team with: Hugo Souza; Matheuzinho, Rodrigo Caio, Pablo and Ayrton Lucas; William Arão and João Gomes; Everton Ribeiro, Giorgian de Arrascaeta and Bruno Henrique; Gabriel Barbosa.
