The start of classes occurs normally this week in 17 provinces, although in most of them joint discussions with the teachers’ unions continue and only seven districts will not start their school cycles.
The provinces began to close their own joint tables days before the start of classes, scheduled between February 27 and March 2 according to the districtand after the national government agreed to the salary increase of 33.5 percent in three tranches.
The national parity agreement established a minimum wage of $130,000 and an increase in the “National Teacher Salary Compensation Program” for those provinces that cannot reach the agreement.
Firstly, the government of the province of Buenos Aires offered last Thursday an increase of 40 percent in three tranches -18% in March, 10% in May and 12% in July-, which is being discussed among the teacher unions.
The unions’ response to the offer, which also contemplates a review clause and the reopening of negotiations in August, will be given this Monday.
Meanwhile, classes will begin normally on Wednesday, March 1, as confirmed to Télam by the General Director of Culture and Education, Alberto Sileoni.

For his part, The Buenos Aires government offered a 60% salary increase until December to be granted in a staggered manner -14% since February, 6% since April, 10% since June, 10% since August, 10% since October and 10% since December-, but the Ademys union expressed its disagreement with the offer and called a strike teacher with mobilization to the Cabinet Headquarters for tomorrow.
The Union of Education Workers (UTE) and other unions are analyzing the proposal in different plenary sessions of delegates.
On the other hand, In Córdoba, classes will not start this Monday in state or private schools: the teachers united in the Union of Educators (UEPC) demand that no teacher earn less than 200,000 pesos.
The union announced a strike and mobilization for 24 hours for tomorrow and the provincial Minister of Education, Walter Grahovac, maintained that the talks will be resumed after the measure of force, considering -in an interview with Noticiero Doce- that “it does not make sense deepen a dialogue if there is already a decision to strike”.
Likewise, classes in Santa Fe are not going to start on March 1, as planned, since the Santa Fe Teachers Association (Amsafé) resolved two days of strike for Wednesday and Thursday if there is no new proposal .
In response, the Government of Santa Fe asked the teachers’ unions to discuss “with the kids at school” and announced that it will not settle the salary increase proposed in the joint discussion if the school year does not start.
The Government of Omar Perotti had offered a 33.5% increase to be paid in three tranches from March to July, with two revisions in May and July, but the proposal was not accepted by Amsafé or by the local delegation of the Argentine Union of Private Teachers (Sadop).

In Entre Ríos, the teachers unions accepted the 40% increase until May to be paid in three tranches -8% February; 19% in March and 13% in May- and classes will start tomorrow.
In Catamarca, union organizations continue to discuss the last salary offer and had a meeting with provincial authorities last Friday.
There, the Government improved its last offer of 33.5% in three sections that had been considered “insufficient” by the teacher inter-union.
Although in Chubut the salary offer proposed in parities was accepted by four of the five unions, the Chubut Education Workers Association (Atech) -which has the largest number of affiliated teachers- called for a strike tomorrow with mobilization in disagreement.

The education minister of Chubut, José María Grazzini, He told Télam that an increase of 38% was granted for the sector, “always recognizing that teachers deserve to earn more but without losing sight of the public accounts and the numbers of the province.”
While, the Government of San Juan offered a 31.1% increase for March10% for May and review in June, and the unions’ response will be given to the authorities on February 28, after each union consults with its bases.
In Santiago del Estero classes will start next Wednesday, March 1 after the provincial government agreed to a 95% salary increase starting in February for all employees in the province.
In Salta, the teachers unions agreed to a salary increase of 35.5%which will be paid in stages in the months of February, March and April, and the joint table will continue next May, when the salary guidelines will be analyzed again.

In Neuquén, teachers accepted the salary proposal of the provincial government but they announced a 24-hour strike for March 1 because that day begins the trial for the Fuentealba II case.
While, The Government of Santa Cruz assured that the school year will begin normally this Monday after the last joint meeting, while the teachers are waiting for the summons from the Ministry of Labor for the continuity of the intermediate room that had been established in the last meeting.
The educators grouped in the Santa Cruz Teachers Association (Adosac) -majority union- decided the measures to follow in the provincial congress that was held today virtually.
in black riverthe teachers united in the Union of Workers for Education of Río Negro (Unter) announced a strike for 72 hours and the non-start of classes for tomorrow in rejection of the salary proposal.
The Minister of Education and Human Rights, Pablo Núñez, expressed that he does not share “at all” the union’s decision and assured that “if there is a will for dialogue we will be able to find solutions.”
In Tierra del Fuego, the teachers’ unions remain in a state of permanent session to debate the Executive salary proposal that he promised to present during this weekend.
The Governor of Chaco, Jorge Capitanichannounced at a press conference a salary agreement “with broad consensus” and confirmed that classes start on March 1 after guaranteeing a 10% increase above inflation in 2023.

Jujuy teachers rejected the Government’s proposal for all state workers a 20% increase over the basic salary, to impact in two tranches of 10% each, in February and April, and they announced a 24-hour strike for next Wednesday, March 1.
The Center for Teachers of Middle and Higher Education (Cedems) demanded a 20% recomposition of the salary with the February salary in order to “close 2022” and “set 50% increases for the first semester.”
In Formosa, classes begin this Mondaybut from the Self-convened Teachers Guild (GDA) they expressed their rejection of the agreement of the national unions and denounced that “there is still no news of an increase” in the province.
While, classes in Mendoza will start tomorrow although the teachers unions continue to ask for the reopening of salaries of 2023, for which the United Union of Education Workers (SUTE) agreed on a plan of struggle that includes a mobilization tomorrow at 6:30 p.m.
The government of Tucumán reached a salary agreement of more than 33% with teacher unions and in this way -with the presence of Governor Juan Manzur- it was possible to guarantee the start of the school year for next Wednesday, March 1.
In Corrientes classes will start next Tuesday, February 28 despite the fact that the parities are not yet closed and the negotiations went to an intermediate room.
in the pampasthe joint table will be held on February 27 to discuss this year’s salaries and raise working conditions, while the school year will begin on March 1.
The Government of La Rioja agreed at the end of January to increase with the teaching unions that guarantees the start of the school year scheduled for next Thursday, March 2.
In Misiones classes start on March 1 for all levels, after agreeing on a minimum increase of $110,670 until April 17, when the next joint meeting will take place.
Finally, In San Luis classes are going to start this Monday normally.
