The unit assured that the performance of the school authorities will also be reviewed based on the operational guide for the operation of private schools incorporated into the SEP.
“Due to these facts, it is reported that school activities at Williams School will be suspended for at least three days,” the agency stated.
“The Federal Education Authority in Mexico City regrets the sensitive death of a student from Colegio Williams, and expresses its solidarity and support to parents, family members, friends, colleagues and the educational community in general,” he added.
On Monday, November 7, the 6-year-old boy Abner drowned in the pool at Colegio Williams, San Jerónimo campus, when he was in swimming class.
The protests over the death of the child Abner in the facilities of the Williams School in Mexico City went from social networks to the streets on Tuesday.
From early on, Twitter users used the hashtags #JusticiaParaAbner and Colegio Williams for authorities in the capital to investigate the events in which the minor lost his life.
Later, mothers and fathers of children who study at the aforementioned educational institution blocked Patriotismo Avenue, in the Mexican capital. With banners, they demanded that those responsible for the events be found.
The head of government of the capital, Claudia Sheinbaum, said today that Abner’s family has the support of the authorities in Mexico City.
“I contacted the father of the Williams School student, who unfortunately lost his life, I let him know that the Mexico City Attorney General’s Office will initiate an investigation to find out the truth. Our support and solidarity to the family”, said the president.
