Four deputies affirmed that the leadership of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) does not go out to defend former officials accused of cases of corruption in the government, out of respect for due process and to not interfere with justice.
Sócrates Pérez, Ydania Doñé, Rudy Méndez and Félix Castilloagreed to specify that they will wait until a judge decides the files of those persecuted for administrative corruption.
They supported the position of the President of the Republic and President of the PLD, Daniel Medinato stay out of those cases.
Legislator Pérez, referring to cases such as that of the former attorney general Jean Alain Rodriguezpointed out that the PLD does not come out to defend anyone, out of respect for due process.

He believed that no court has sentenced former PLD officials from Medina’s management, and that, therefore, “they do not come out for or against.”
Deputy Méndez specified that Medina allows justice to judge. “We, as a party, are going to leave when justice decides.” Castillo says the PLD as an institution does not interfere with justice.

The ex-president Daniel Medina swore around 6,500 new members of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) in Santo Domingo Este, in an act where he reiterated criticism of the government of Louis Abinader and the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) and assured in 2024 his organization will return to lead the country.
“We hear how people cry about the rise in food and electricity prices. How people complain about the lack of opportunities or the abandonment of the field. People shout about the insecurity in the streets and the deterioration of the educational systembut apparently nobody cares about those screams, “he said at the Los Mina Club.
He assured that the people look back, that they do so because they have memory and make comparisons, and look forward because they know that in two years they will decide their destiny again and will not make mistakes again.
Medina assured that the peledeísta has a proven service vocation and assured that the new affiliates must always be committed leaders who must bring solutions and reach out to those who need it most.
