Clara Brugada promotes AMLO's legacy and judicial reform on tour in Mexico City

AMLO’s thank you and farewell tour

During his gratitude tour through the municipalities of Milpa Alta, Tláhuac, Xochimilco, Cuajimalpa, Magdalena Contreras, Gustavo A. Madero and Iztapalapa, a district he visited on August 6, Brugada dedicated a few minutes of his speech to remembering that those who govern today in the capital and several states of the country, are part of a project that was started decades ago by the current president Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

In her speeches, Clara Brugada recalls that, since he was head of government, López Obrador promoted several social programs that are now law both in the capital and in the country, such as: pensions for older adults and scholarships.

The elected head of government affirms that López Obrador’s legacy gives his administration greater responsibility to continue with public policies that benefit the capital’s citizens through efficient spending of public resources.

“I always say that we have a bittersweet feeling, on the one hand sadness because the best president of Mexico is leaving and on the other hand joy for the results of June 2. From October 5 when we take office, we are going to work very hard, we are going to continue transforming this city to continue the legacy of the president (López Obrador),” he says.

In her speeches during this gratitude tour, Clara Brugada highlights that 2018 was a turning point in the country’s political life, as President López Obrador marked the path for a way of governing despite resistance.

“President López Obrador fulfilled his promise, he got this country to begin its great transformation, but be careful, we are only six years into the transformation, he had the hardest part. So we tell him from here (Mexico City)Farewell, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador!goodbye to the leader who never gave up in the fight to transform this country,” he said on August 6 from the Macropaza Cuitláhuac in Iztapalapa, one of the main Obradorist strongholds in the capital.
