This Monday, the National Directorate of Pharmacies and Drugs of the Ministry of Health proceeded to temporarily close a clandestine pharmacy located on Calle 8 Avenida Central and Avenida Justo Arosemena in the city of Colón.
This pharmacy had already been visited last week and today the closure of the facilities was formalized, which did not have the license granted by the National Directorate of Pharmacy and Drugs, therefore it did not meet the requirements to operate as a pharmaceutical establishment.
Marcia Bramwell, regional head of pharmacies and drugs in Colón, reported that it was detected that pharmaceutical formulas were made in the place without a pharmaceutical manager and that it was observed that hygiene was not maintained in the preparation area, which puts health at risk of the population.
Therefore, a resolution was raised in which the temporary closure of the premises was decreed, in addition to the confiscation of the products. It is recommended that citizens be aware of this type of premises and that in the event of any suspicion they file a complaint to proceed with the verification of the same and if it is warranted, proceed with the sanctions, since health is essential.
