In a joint operation, members of the National Police, assigned to the Espaillat Regional Directorate and the Intelligence Subdirectorate (DINTEL), together with the J-2 and preventive agents, accompanied by the Public Ministry, dismantled a workshop where they allegedly modified firearms illegal weapons and blank weapons for use in illicit activities.
The operation was carried out in the El Higüerito municipal district, Espaillat province, authorized under search warrant No. 598-1-2025-SAUT-00012, and culminated in the seizure of firearms, blank weapons, tools and machinery used. for the manufacture and modification of these.
This operation, carried out under the supervision of the Public Ministry, arose after intelligence work that indicated the existence of a clandestine workshop in the residence of José Luis Veras, of legal age, located on Sánchez de El Higüerito Street, confirming the veracity of these information after the raid.
During the procedure, two pistols were seized, one SIG SAUER brand, black, without legible numbering, and another silver-colored, 9mm caliber, serial No. 874707, without legible marking. Two revolvers were also found, one silver and the other black, both without numbering or legible markings.

Likewise, 25 pistol frames, 16 magazines, 10 pistol slides, a revolver frame, a shotgun barrel, as well as tools and machinery such as blowtorches, drills, polishers and a lathe or milling machine were seized.
Everything occupied is under police custody and will be sent to the Public Ministry for the corresponding legal purposes.
