On October 22, Adán Ayala Garcete, the last member of the Garcete Fleitas family, was evicted from his Korochiré ranch, located in the Paraguayan Chaco. Sandra Ledezma, a Luque prosecutor, charged him with serious duress, aggravated robbery and criminal association.
The Garcete family has owned more than 12 thousand hectares since 1962. However, for 12 years they have suffered pressure and intimidation from a business group, which has the support of the González Daher Clan.
CONTEXT
More than 12 years ago, Adan’s mother suffered from the constraints of the former senator’s environment. For this reason, he decided to enlist the help of Miguel Óscar Bajac, superintendent of Alto Paraguay and Boquerón at that time. He accepts the job.
The woman gave G. 400 million in two lots as payment. But after 15 days, Bajac explains that it is difficult to win because Óscar González Daher was on the other side. At that moment Bajac tells him that he can no longer help him.
Soon after, the family learned that the clan was already involved in other land conflicts. The eviction finally came five years ago (2016). Even some 2060 head of cattle that were in the place (registered by Senacsa), disappeared when the owners were evicted. “We made complaints of cattle rustling before the Public Ministry, but they never gave us answers. The prosecutor was Andrés Arriola at that time, who also obeyed González Daher’s orders, ”he said.
In 2019, the family obtained the final sentence to return to the place. But 100% of the animals had already disappeared. As well as 4,000 of the 12,634 hectares of trees.
Despite the situation, they began to work again, but in July of this year, Julio Godoy, a former defense attorney, appeared as an ally of the counterpart, to demand the land again.
“The lawyer’s idea was to reintroduce the González Daher clan,” said Ayala.
On October 22, Adán Ayala Garcete was charged and sent to prison. He was behind bars for five days. When he was finally released, he again found his retirement home burned and without the animals he had.
However, he was arrested again, on October 28, when he tried to re-enter his property.
“The search warrant was to remove us from the property. In our place, personnel from the Agroganadera Occidental SA (Agrosa) company, who is the counterpart, entered, “he said.

Since yesterday, Ayala Garcete began a series of peaceful demonstrations in front of the Public Ministry. Indefinitely until there is a solution.
What is striking is that the prosecutor Sandra Ledezma de Luque was appointed for a case that happened in the department of Alto Paraguay.
Nélida Chávez, the widow of Óscar González Daher, was the scribe who wrote the false titles for Agrosa to appropriate the ranch. While the notary’s sister, Beatriz Chaves, actively participated in the judicial process that ended up evicting the Garcete family.
