Respecting the results of the primary elections is a clear demand of representatives of civil society in Caracas, Miranda and La Guaira.
In a statement released this Thursday, June 8, different organizations gave a vote of confidence to the National Primary Commission (CP) that organizes the process of October 22 in which the unitary candidate of an opposition sector will be elected.
They expressed their aspiration that political actors act in good faith and in compliance with the results of the primaries. “Through the exercise of the vote, citizens fulfill a function
constitutive of the democratic system as an instrument of political change”, they stated in the text.
In addition, they asked the teachers’ union, the youth and the students to assume a leading role in the organization of the primaries.
