It was the judge himself who took the woman’s body to the Homicide Division, in the central region of the capital, and registered the occurrence.

In the report to the police, the magistrate reported having had a marital argument with his wife the night before, around 10:30 pm. Then, Monica would have left the apartment informing her that she was going to travel. In the morning, at 6:40 am, when he woke up, João Augusto would not have found the car key and looked for the spare vehicle key to be able to go to work. Upon arriving at the parking lot of the building, he found that the door was open to his wife, dead, in an alleged suicide.

Mônica Maria Andrade Figueiredo de Oliveira was 47 years old, and was born in Barra de Santana, Paraíba. She was a judge of the holder of the Single Court of Martins, in the interior of Paraíba. She had been married to João Augusto, a judge in Belém, for about two years, and frequented the capital of Pará frequently.

The Pará Court of Justice (TJPA) has yet to comment on the case.
